THE BRIEF
OfColor is an enterprise financial wellness platform providing content and tools built around people of color.
They approached us to create a series of short but engaging explainer videos. Given the budget and scope of the work, the strategy was to keep it simple, with limited animation, while keeping the visual interest.
The solution
For this, we first defined the look and feel for these videos. We followed the brand guidelines, while also adding a lot from ourselves. We settled in colors, textures, common assets and more.
We also established the motion look: it would run on a choppy 8-12 frames per second. The animation should look imperfect and a little shaky.
After I received the script and VO, I took care of the entire thing. From an initial parsing of the script to storyboards to styleframes to animation.
And to finish, I also did the sound FX treatment for all videos on this series.
